Thales has submitted a bid to the Commonwealth to build two amphibious warships at shipyards on Australia's east coast, including at Sydney's Garden Island.
The vessels, weighing about 22,000 tons each, will be able to deploy 1000 Australian Defense Force personnel with their tanks, vehicles and equipment.
