LPG Explosion Investigation Starts

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

October 5, 1999

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of an explosion aboard a Liberian-registered LPG tanker which killed five people in a Philippine shipyard facility. The Subic Shipyard, despite the big blast on Monday, is reported to be under normal working operations. Eight other people were injured in the blast.
