Shangai's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding contracted by Grimaldi Group to build 5 large RoRo container ships.

The new generation of 3,800-teu Ro-Ro container ships will replace ACL's existing fleet of such types of ship operating in the company's transatlantic service and they will be the first of their type ever built.

The newbuilds will be bigger, faster, greener and more efficient than their predecessors, according to ACL.

All five vessels are to be delivered in 2015.

Trite but true, the path to decarbonization has no ‘silver bullet’ solution.
