June 14, 2007

Crowley Maritime Corporation has formed a new non-asset, knowledge-based Technical Services business unit that will bring together the company's vessel construction and naval architecture, government services and ship management services. Crowley veteran Steve Collar has been appointed senior vice president and general manager of the enterprise. He will continue to work from the company's headquarters in Jacksonville and report to Tom Crowley, chairman, president and CEO.

Collar, who joined the company in 1977 as a deckhand and most recently served as vice president of bulk petroleum and chemical transportation has the knowledge and experience to lead the unit. Ed Schlueter, vice president of vessel management services; Jay Brickman, vice president of government services, and Cole Cosgrove, general manager of ship management, will report to Collar.

With the advent of fuel transition, digitalization, AI and autonomy, innovation in vessel design and operation proceeds at unprecedented speed.
