Abandon Ship? IMO Weighs in on Assessing Hull Damage

The IMO issued a Circular providing guidelines on early assessment of hull damage and possible need for abandonment of bulk carriers. Companies that operate bulk carriers are urged to issue ship specific guidance, based on these guidelines, to masters of bulk carriers with a view to improving the precautionary measures and procedures for emergencies on board such ships.
